Kingdom of Macedon. Alexander III, the Great, 336-323 BC. Gold Stater (8.62 g) probably minted in the East. Head right of Athena wearing triple-crested helmet, decorated with springing griffin. Reverse: Nike standing left, holding wreath and stylis. Reverse is a bit double struck and centered towards 6 o'clock, so mint attribution is not possible. Lustrous; Extremely Fine or better.
