Lot 674

1850 N-26 R4. NGC graded MS-64 Brown. Lustrous dark bluish steel and olive with traces of faded mint color showing through on both sides. Satiny and very attractive, just a shade or two darker than you like to see in a high grade cent. The only marks are a faint splash of slightly darker toning left of star 3 and a barely visible diagonal tick close off the tip of the chin. M-LDS, die state b. The die line over UN is weak and covers less than half the N. Our grade is MS62, tied for CC#6 in the Grellman census. Comes with a great provenance.
Estimated Value $350-UP.
