[Scientists/Physicians]. Group of thirteen items (11 cards, a photo and a memo sheet) signed by ten scientists/ physicians. Included are: Paul R. Ehrlich (1854-1915, 1908 Nobel Prize in Medicine); Christian Bernard (1922-2001, performed first successful heart transplant); Harold C. Urey (1893-1981, 1934 Nobel Prize in Chemistry; Paul J. Flory (1910-85, pioneer in polymer science); N.E. Shumway (1923-2006, performed first successful U.S. heart transplant); two signatures by Jonas Salk (1914-95), developed the polio vaccine); Linus Pauling (1901-94, Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry and Peace); Lubos Kohoutek (1935 -), discovered the Kohoutek comet); two signatures by Denton A. Cooley (1920 -), implanted first artificial heart); Buckminster Fuller (1895-1983), designed the geodesic dome; and C. Everett Koop (1916 -, Surgeon General under President Reagan). Overall fine.
