1873/2 Dollar Octagonal Indian. Breen and Gillio-1121. Low Rarity 7. NGC graded MS-63. The 2 in the date on the die was crudely altered into a 3 by the maker, leaving (at best) a blob for the date! One of the few Breen-Gillio pairings to feature a period after the date. An attractive example of this exceedingly rare variety. Lovely golden shades are evident on both sides with ample luster confirming the MS63 grade. An important offering since: Pop 1; none finer at NGC. This is the only example graded by NGC for the variety.
