Great Britain. Halfgroat, ND. S.2375. Henry VIII, 1509-1547. London Tower mint. Mint mark, lis. Obverse: Facing old bust of King. Reverse: Quartered shield of arms. This coin, struck in the closing years of Henry's reign, has a superb little portrait of one of England's most famous monarchs which is reminiscent of Hans Holbein's classic and priceless paintings. Crudely made, the coin nevertheless has great clarity of detail. In a new 4 prong NGC holder. NGC graded VF-35.
Estimated Value $500 - 600.
