Bruttium. Kroton, c. 370 B.C. AR Stater or Nomos (7.66 g). Laureate head right of Apollo. Reverse: Infant Herakles kneeling right, head turned left strangling two serpents. SNG ANS 384-386; SNG Lockett 631; SNG Lloyd 618; Jameson 433; Dewing 513. Well struck on a full broad flan and perfectly centered. Excellent metal and struck in high relief; all nicely toned. A popular and highly desirable type; Very Rare. Choice Very Fine.
