Celtic Coinage. The Parisii, Second Century BC. Gold Stater (7.1 g). Head right, decorated by a necklace of wolves' teeth. Reverse: Horse prancing left. Sills class 5a, fig. 94h; Delestrée-Tache Série 12, 83. Very rare. Extremely Fine.

Imitative of the gold staters of Philip II of Macedon (Apollo/biga), these coins minted at and around Paris are among the most coveted of all the fascinating issues of Gaul.
