Lot 1014

1936 Lynchburg Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-67. Lovely golden toning on both sides. Fresh snow-white surface still shines through the natural overlay of color with a change to more subtle satiny appearance in the fields. Putting aside the luster for a moment, on to the strike. Here again, it is easy to see this piece received a full, sharp blow by the dies. It is a superb gem. The growing tension to acquire high-end pieces should be set aside once this lovely item comes up for bidding! Pop 55; none finer at PCGS (PCGS # 9324) .
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,150.
The Mark Gordon Collection.
