STS-1, FLOWN Thermal Tile Fragment (.5x.5") This fragment is embedded in a clear lucite desk display (3.75x2.75x1") that has a descriptive brochure embedded beneath it that reads: "This is a segment of a thermal tile which protected the Space Shuttle Orbiter "Columbia" (STS-1) from the heat of reentry on its first flight April 12-14, 1981". The lucite is in new condition in its original box with descriptive note. Attractive.
