Lot 1966

1915-S Panama-Pacific Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-64. Lovely delicate nautral antique toning about the borders, with the surface condition exceedingly choice and satin-like. The luster on Pan-Pacifics has an almost velvety texture and is one of the most notable aspects of this piece. Struck for sale at the Panama-Pacific Internation Exposition held in San Francisco in 1915. The fair ran from February 20th until December 4th, 1915, and was widely considered to be a great success. The commemorative half dollars struck for the exposition are an integral part of American numismatics as the first such coins struck at the San Francisco branch mint (PCGS # 9357) .
Estimated Value $850 - 900.

Realized $776
