1879 Morgan Dollar. MS-64. The lovely toning on this coin is probably original "bag toning," acquired from the sulphur content of the U.S. Mint bags that stored dollars for decades in government vaults. The obverse is purplish mauve while the other side is an elegant, even gray in color with some hints of gold.
