Original 1886 Statue of Liberty Silk Souvenir Ribbon. Printed white silk ribbon printed on both sides, 2¾ x 6 in., issued around the time of the dedication of the Statue of Liberty on 28 Oct. 1886. Printed copyright date of 1886; printed on the reverse side with a calendar for the year 1887. On that same side is printed an eight line poem by John Greenleaf Whittier titled, "The Bartholdi Statue". The face side features a view of the Statue and of New York Harbor, with the words "Bartholdi Souvenir". Below this image is a list of specifications giving the size and weight of various parts of the Statue. At the bottom is a portrait of Bartholdi, with his facsimile signature as manufactured by the "Liberty Mfg. Co." of New York. Fine.
