Vargas, Alberto (1896-1992) Painter of pin-up girls and erotica; his "Varga Girls" often appeared in Esquire magazine and later in Playboy magazine as "Vargas Girls." Autograph letter signed ("Alberto"), 1p, on notebook paper, 11 x 8½ in., n.p. (October 1978). To Smithy and Pamela regarding his autobiography which was about to be published, his beloved wife Ana (who died in 1974), and the enormous amount of unfinished work that awaits him at the age of 82. "Luckily my eyesight and my hands are still in perfect order…I stay clear from arguments recriminations and anything else that tends to incite and disturb my mind…."
