Rodin, Auguste (1840-1917) French artist; the foremost sculptor of his time. Autograph letter signed ("Aug. Rodin"), 1p, in French, 9 x 4½ in., 77 rue de Varenne, 1 May 1911. To Monsieur A. Cippies, who has ordered a replica of "the little mask of Hanoko in bronze green patina which is found at the exposition which the International Society is organizing. The price of this little mask would be 2,000 francs and you would have to wait 18 days to three weeks before I could send it to you…." The letter is framed with a medal of Rodin by Andre Lavrillier and framed to an overall size of 11¾ x 14¾ in. Fine. A COA from the late autograph dealer Charles Hamilton is on the verso.
