Lot 605

Transport Order From Litzmannstdt Ghetto. Typed document signed by the Reich's chief railroad inspector, 6 x 8¼ in., in German, Litzmannstadt, 2 Sept. 1944. The document offers praise for the job performance of one Anton Kunze who was a platform conductor at Litzmannstadt from 1 Mar. to 2 Sept. 1944. With official stamp. For some reason "Jude!" is written in red pencil at upper left. Because of its productivity, which benefitted Nazi Germany, Ghetto Litzmannstadt was the last ghetto in Poland to be liquidated; this occurred in the summer of 1944, so Kunze is being praised for his part in transporting Jews to concentration camps (Chelmo and Auschwitz).
Estimated Value $300 - 400.
