Diaz, Porfirio (1830-1915) General and president of Mexico from 1877-1911; he died in exile. Document signed in his first year as president, 2pp with integral leaf, 17 x 11¼ inches, Palace of the National Government in Mexico, 20 June 1877. Granting the lawyer Auguntin Norma the right to appoint the first minor judge of the capital, with an annual salary of 1200 pesos. With an engraving of an eagle holding a snake in its beak at top, two revenue stamps, and at lower left, an embossed eagle-and-snake seal covered by embossed blue paper petals. The signature is huge. Very good; several fold separations. A very attractive document.
