GT-4, 1965, Ed White's Lockheed F-104 Personal Coffee Mug. This multicolor pottery globular coffee mug was made personally for Ed White when he was one of the handful of Lockheed test pilots that flew the Lockheed F-104 high altitude test vehicle. The mug is hand inscribed in gold: "Astronaut Ed". A personal item at the time, probably less than 10 similar mugs were made for the other test pilots and far fewer have survived the test of 50 odd years. In excellent condition, this mug is a record of a momentous time.
