Gemini Program, 1965, NASA Distinguished Service Medal Certificate (10.5x14") This hand-painted certificate on parchment paper reads, in part: "…For his outstanding performance in directing NASA flight operations and for his leadership of the continuous and rapid adaptation of NASA's astronaut training activities to the experience gained from Mercury and Gemini flights. His training of the ten Gemini astronauts who, in 1965, flew more than 1,250 hours in space to demonstrate the capabilities of the Gemini spacecraft…". This certificate is hand-signed by James E. Webb, NASA Administrator and R. C. Seamans, Deputy Administrator. Some edge corner faults and minor running of some of the painted capital letters, this unique document is an important piece of space memorabilia. Minor toning and moisture smears of the ink. Unique.
