Greco-Roman Cameo, circa 4th-3rd Century B.C. 24.2 x 20.4 mm. Ovular shaped, root beer colored agate cameo with raised scene of a mounted horseman wearing a small cap and moustache and holding a sack in his left hand as the horse rears. Interestingly and intricately carved in layers using a natural layer of bluish-white stone as the details for the cameo side. Reverse bears engraved Gnostic intaglio with central, double headed, spread winged eagle surrounded by symbols and letters. Intact and quite choice.
