Civil War Veteran's Medal. Bronze eagle holding cross cannons with cannon balls attached by a colorful linen American flag connecting to a five point star. Enscribed on the star is "Grand Army of the Republic 1861 - Veteran - 1866". All Union veterans who served in the Civil War were given these metals from 1866 on.
