This interesting and rare piece of brass jewelry fashioned in the shape of a book with intricate engraved scrolling, opens to reveal 8 albumin minature photographs of Civil War heroes including Robert E. Lee as a young man (pre Union War army), Abraham Lincoln, General Phillip Sheridan and General Winfield Scott. These unusual items were sold as souvenirs in stores and through newspaper ads. Catch that secures locket is missing but is easily replaceable. Otherwise condition is excellent.
