1876 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 64 Cameo. Lovely golden sunset and electric blue toning about the edges. This being the centennial year, 1876, with activities, fairs and gatherings to celebrate the occasion, it should not come as a surprise to the coin collector that Mint sales of Proof sets increased somewhat over earlier years. However, we feel that survival of choice and gem Proof half dollars of 1876 are just about as scarce and unavailable as previous issues, with this piece displaying strong, beautiful cameo contrast.
