Lot 63

1804 C-11 R2. VF-30. Plain 4 with Stems. Sharper by at least 10 points but there is a faint scuff of fine hairline scratches on the highpoints of the portrait plus a few more on the highest points of the wreath. These marks are extremely well hidden in the glossy chocolate brown patina and are visible only with the aid of a strong glass. Otherwise the surfaces offer excellent eye appeal and the only mark visible without a glass is a tiny rim bruise well right of the Y in LIBERTY. Nicely struck EDS, Manley state 1.0. HALF CENT is well struck, which is unusual for this variety.
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,250.
Ex Jim McGuigan 3/25/05.

Realized $1,725
