1804 C-6 R2. AU-55. Spiked Chin. Choice lustrous chocolate and steel brown. The fields are satiny and the surfaces are flawless. Just a touch of friction on the highpoints from mint state. The only mark is a rim nick over the right side of the M in AMERICA. LDS, Manley state 11.0, Braig state 8.0, with an extensive series of rim cuds on the reverse. The Spiked Chin is obvious. Removed from a PCGS slab graded MS63BN (PCGS label included, and it mentions the Spiked Chin feature). (NOTE: There is a comprehensive run of die states for this variety following the 1857 half cents in this sale. Every die state listed by Manley is represented.).
