AR Tetradrachm (14.87 g) dated year 2 (133/4 C.E.). Tetrastyle façade of the Temple of Jerusalem; within the middle of the Temple interior, the Ark of the Covenant in chest form. Reverse: Lulav thrice bound; to left, etrog. Mild 9 [10 examples cited]. TJC 229. H-686. Very Rare. Lustrous, Nearly Mint State.

Probably struck over a tetradrachm of Trajan. This obverse die (inscription: "Jerusalem") was utilized for both year One and year 2 production. The reverse die, however, is a "pure" year 2 issue with reverse inscription "Year 2 of the Freedom of Israel."
