Lot 1075

1893-S Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded AU-53. An untoned example with plenty of luster remaining. Popular key-date and lacking from most collections. This uncommonly choice grade example of this well known Morgan dollar issue should attract a lot of attention from bidders. The surfaces are shaded a light silvery gray with complete absence of spotting or tarnish. Both the hair over Liberty's ear and the eagle's breast feathers are nicely detailed. Minimal abrasions, as About Uncirculated dollars are more inclined to be than baggy Uncirculated ones, though we detect a small mark at about the jaw line below the ear. On the reverse, a light hairline crosses the field below S - OF. Choice rims. Bold date and mintmark. Pop 56; 68 finer at PCGS.
Estimated Value $20,000 - 24,000.

Realized $20,400
