Lot 3975

1834 Capped Bust Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-63 PQ. A frosty white coin. Likely a later strike from the dies, judging from the details. The surfaces are satin silver. Struck with not quite the required mathematical precision (but aren't most 1834 bust halves this way?), with some areas incomplete on the high points by an unsuccessful strike left by the rebound of the dies. The surfaces, however, are exceedingly choice for the grade, silvery, smooth, devoid of marks or tarnish spots. We consider the grade to be Premium Quality.
Estimated Value $2,200 - 2,300.

Realized $2,415
