Lot 3881

1926-D Buffalo Nickel. PCGS graded MS-65. Well struck for this date and nicely toned. 1926-D is less often found in gem nowadays than in years past. A coin with strong underlying luster and other positive qualities. The strike is sharp, coming within an eyelash of the depth of detail seen in a P-mint of this year, and close enough to full that close attention should be paid to the fact when bidding. Indeed, the strike of the present coin easily rivals that of the plate coin in the Lange reference. Pop 82; 23 finer, 22 in 66, 1 in 67 (PCGS # 3958) .
Estimated Value $4,500 - 5,000.
The Harpeth Valley Collection.

Realized $5,175
