Mexico. Maximilian Empire. Civil Merit Medal in Silver. 34.2mm, unsigned with a ball suspension, having a high relief bust of Maximilian, likely of late 19th century French manufacture. Vernon-14, and of very similar style to Grove D-271a, though with "Merito Civil" reverse. About Extremely Fine on a new color variant ribbon, scarce.
