Great Britain. Kings of All England. AR Penny, ND (Thetford, struck 1048-1050). North-818; S-1175. 1,13 grams. Edward the Confessor, 1042-1066 AD. Short Cross type; small thick module. Moneyer, Aelfric. Diademed and draped bust left; +EDPE RE(C?) around. Reverse: Short voided cross, pellet at center; +ÆLFIC ON ÐET around. Sharp full strike, if a little doubled on obverse. Medium warm gray to deep golden brown toning. NGC graded MS-62.
