Great Britain. Kings of All England. AR Penny, ND (Bath, struck Spring-Autumn 1036). North-809; S-1167. 0.99 grams. Harthacnut, 1035-1042 AD. Jewel Cross type. Diademed and cuirassed bust right; +hARÐA CNVT RE around. Reverse: Central cross of four ovals, joined at center by two circles, with pellet within; + PÆDEL·L ON BAÐA: around. Crisp strike, excellent metal on a full flan. Much luster. Medium to deep smoky tone, the recesses lighter. Extremely Rare. Perhaps the finest known of this type. NGC graded MS-61.
