Great Britain. Kings of All England. AR Penny, ND (Oxford, struck c. 1029-1035/6). North-790; S-1159. 1.10 grams. Cnut (the Great), 1016-1035 AD. Short Cross type. Moneyer, Aelfwine Tosti. Diademed and draped bust left, scepter before; + CNVT ·REC A around. Reverse: Central circle, short voided cross with annulet at center; + ELPINE TOSTI ON TCX around. Crisp bold strike, with excellent metal and flan. Much luster. Medium to dark smoky-russet toning. NGC graded MS-63.
