Great Britain. Kings of Mercia. AR Penny, ND. North-426; S-939. 1.36 grams. Burgred, 852-874 AD. Profile Portrait type. Schematic diademed draped bust right; BVRGRED REX -. Reverse: Inscription in lunette of three lines: MON ETA in upper and lower registers, divided by two single lines with hook-like ends; in central: + LIAFMA / N (on upper register). Finely centered, sharp strike on excellent metal. Even, medium neutral to brownish gray toning. Finely preserved, and rare as such. NGC graded AU-55.
