Peru. Republic. Pattern 8 Reales, 1825 -JM (Lima). KM-Pn-1 (plate coin). 36.94 grams. Tripartite shield of arms flanked by wreath, and crowned above by smaller wreath. Reverse: Pallas Athene, less helmet, as Liberty, stands left supporting tasseled cap on spear, while one hand rests on shield. Beautifully struck, the fields almost pristine and highly lustrous. With faint warm to smoky toning.

Proof pattern for the first 8 Reales of the new republic. Absolutely Unique. NGC graded Proof 63.
