Szold, Henrietta (1860-1945) Letter to Mayer Sulzberger, President of the Jewish Publication Society, regarding a map of the Semitic World and maps of the Palestinian territory fom the future founder of Hadassah. Autographed letter signed "Henrietta Szold," two pages, 7" x 4½", April 16, 1896, Baltimore. She writes, in part: "Professor George Adam Smith … will be thinking about the matter of our maps, and before he leaves Baltimore … he will tell me what ones in his opinion are proper for the illustrations of (Heinrich) Graetz. Through his cartographer, Mr. Bartholomew of Edinburgh, he will furnish us with his map of the Semitic world and with the two Palestinian maps …" Very Fine.
