U. S. Grant and Family - Albumen Photographic Print. Titled "Mount McGregor Cottage Porch. The great Soldier surrounded by his loved ones," Grant is photographed on the porch of his home in Mount McGregor, New York, days before his death (July 23, 1885), 15" x 17¼", copyright 1866. Each family member is identified in print. Very good; mount has minor foxing and some marginal damp stains; one faint break at upper left margin of image.
