Burr, Aaron (1756-1836) American politician and adventurer; Vice President of the United States (1801-1805); best known for mortally wounding Alexander Hamilton in a duel in 1804. ALS ("A. Burr"), 1p, 9" x 7½", Albany, 1800 Mar. 3 To John D. Dickinson in Lansingburgh, asking Dickinson to come to Albany to discuss their business which "may take some hours--it will be best that you come early…" The letter is affixed to heavier paper, and the address panel has been cut from the integral leaf and affixed below. Dickinson (1767-1841) served as U.S. representative from New York from 1819-1823.
