Squirrel-like Rodent Skull. Ischyromys was a 30 million year old, 2 foot long squirrel-like rodent that lived in the White River Badlands section of Western Nebraska. It is one of the earliest known true rodents, having a pair of sharp incisors and being an excellent climber that probably lived in trees. This excellent quality 2.7 x 1.5 x 1.5 inch skull is virtually complete with the identifying upper incisors present as well as a lower incisor that has been partially entombed in the original stone matrix for display.
