Mosasaur Teeth And Jaw From Morocco. Considered the T-Rex of the seas, Mosasaurs were the largest and fiercest predators of Cretaceous waters 70-80 million years ago. The largest of their kind, Mosasaurus anectons, was found in the phosphate mines of Khoribga, Morocco.
Housed on a complete 35 x 10 inch matrix, this huge jaw segment is 33 inches long, with 6 huge teeth. The longest tooth measures over 3 inches, not including the root still embedded in the jaw bone. There is also a small replacement tooth emerging near the back of the jaw where a large tooth was broken off during feeding. Mosasaurs, like other reptiles, continued to replace teeth as they were lost. This is an opportunity to own an impressive lower jaw from a 30 foot long Mosasaur that would sell for over $1 million if complete.
