George Burns, Bob Hope, Dorothy Lamour, & Esther Williams. Four typed letters signed "George," "Bob," "Dorothy," and "Esther" (she added a 3-line handwritten note), sent to Hollywood Reporter gossip columnists Mike Connolly and Jim Heneghan in 1960 and 1961. Bob Hope thanks Connolly for kind words (Hope received the 1960 Jean Herscholt Humanitarian Award). The other three correct misinformation printed about their marriages, production problems, etc. Burns responds with humor to an article stating that he would reprise a role in "The Little Minister": "This must be another Nat Burns, because I didn't fly then, and I'm not flying now….And I'm not 74…." All have some toning; Esther Williams' 2-page letter has small tears at blank upper edge. Overall very good. (4 items).
Estimated Value $200 - 300.
