Tractus Australior Meridionales a Rio de la Plata per Fretum Magellanicaum ad Toraltum (Frederick de Wit, c.1675). A striking sea chart depicting the southern part of South America, from the Rio de la Pla to the Straits of Magellan and Tierra del Fuego, 19" x 22", original color. A wonderful title cartouche shows the natives offering gifts to the Europeans. A group of ships engage in battle off the coast. The upper corners have glue show-through; the upper left corner is separated but present; otherwise, light toning and a couple of creases. Matted and framed to 20¾" x 25". A very attractive display map.
