Rare 1838 U.S. Passport. Passport No. 492 signed by Secretary of State John Forsyth, 15¾" x 10¼", Washington, 1838 May 22. Made out to Miss Euphemia Graham, with descriptive information about Miss Graham and her signature. A large American eagle at top has 22 stars representing the 22 states of the Union. Very good; some toning and folds; housed in a wooden, gilt-edged frame to an overall size of 16¾" x 11¼".
