Civil War Percussion Musket, 1861. 40" barrel. Lock marked "1861" and "U.S. Springfield". Good action. Regulation steel furniture. Stock has a visible cartouche on left side, just behind rear lock screw and a repair just above the rear of the lock plate. Some burn losses around nipple bulster, otherwise sound with normal scratches and dings from years of service. The rear lock screw is missing and all steel parts have dark brown age patina. In good working order.
