English Brass Barrel Flintlock Blunderbuss with Spring Bayonet, c. 1799-1812. By "Dawes, London." 16" octagon to round brass blunderbuss barrel with cannon muzzle and marked with two Tower private proofs and "Dawes London 12" on top flat of barrel. Barrel fit with spring-loaded flip bayonet with sliding release. Lock marked "Dawes" (William & Samuel, Sword Cutlers & Gunmakers, Birmingham. Contractors to Ordnance). Brass furniture. Stock has had restoration to the forward 6" of fore-end. In solid shape, with age scratches and dings from years of service. All steel parts have salt and pepper pitting. 31¾" overall length. A good example in good working order.
