Good Silver Mounted French Flintlock Pistol For The Eastern Market. Circa 1780-1800. 11".57 cal. octagon to round steel barrel with two proof marks on the left side of the breech and gold decorative overlay and an unidentified signature on the top flat. Silver furniture. Lock marked "Aonton" with remnants of gold overlay on screw tips. The stock is missing a few small chips from the rear of the lock mortise, otherwise solid and profusely inlaid with silver wire scrolls, dots, and engraved foliage with 95% remaining. 16.25" overall length. In good working order.
