[Two Confederate Generals] Joseph Wheeler and John B. Clark, Sr. ALS ("Joseph Wheeler") on mourning-bordered stationery, 1p with blank integral leaf, 7" x 5½", West Point, New York, 1906, thanking a lady for "thinking of me in my trouble and sending your words of kindness and sympathy…." With an ALS ("John B. Clark") as a member of the U.S. Congress, 1p, with integral leaf, Fayeth, Mo. 1860 Aug. 15, to the Secretary of the Navy, recommending Joseph Seward for an appointment to the Naval School at Annapolis. Both fine.
