Lot 1103

Brass Screw From R.M.S. Queen Mary. Mounted on a 12½" x 10" wooden plaque bearing the ship's name and a certificate of guarantee on verso. Launched in 1934 and known for both its luxury and speed, the Cunard liner captured the Blue Riband in 1936 and again from 1938-1952. It was refitted as a troopship during WW2, then returned to passenger service until 1967 when it was retired. It has since served as a tourist attraction in Long Beach, CA and has also been used in many well-known films and TV shows. A great way to own a small part of American nautical and warfare history.
Estimated Value $300 - 500.
