1787 New Jersey Maris 54-k R3 Serpent Head. VF-30. Glossy chocolate and steel brown with darker olive brown toning in protected areas. No corrosion, and the only contact marks are a trio of fine pinscratches over RIB at the top of the reverse. Covered with lacquer or some similar protective coating, and this substance is not evenly applied with a few obvious blobs of the stuff on the obverse. This coating appears removable. The date and legends are complete and clear.
