France. 100 Francs, 1929. Fr-598; KM-880. Without mint mark. L. Bazor. Winged head of the Republic left. Reverse: Ear of corn between palm and oak branch. Mintage of only 50 pieces struck. Rare date. NGC graded AU-55.

This coin was struck near the end of the Third Republic in France. The Third Republic was formed after the demise of Emperor Napoleon III, and ended with the German Nazi invasion in 1940. This was a republic that was never truly wanted by the French people, but lasted 70 years.
