Caracalla, 198-217 AD. AR Tetradrachm (12.28 g), Laodikeia ad Mare mint, Syria, Seleukis and Pieria, struck 212-213 AD. Laureate bearded head right. Reverse: Eagle standing facing, head left, wreath in beak; star between legs. Prieur 1178. Excellent, sharp strike on choice metal. Lightly toned, with areas of luster. A choice example and quite stylish for issue. Virtually Mint State.
